Our Simulation Modeling Technician (SMT) courses are both responsive and predictive for a current industry need. The SMT
courses incorporates all phases of interactive 3D, real time and
virtual reality development. Base on a core of skill sets the
courses at FTCC augments this core learning with a capstone course
that transfer the learning from pure to applied. Students and
perspective employers gain a skill that is able to support a variety
of functions from graphic arts to geographic information systems
(GIS). Listed below are the core skills sets for our jumpstart 16-week program.
Advanced Visualization (Photoshop and 3D Studio Max)
This 16-week courses includes instruction on 3D graphics software and image editing software that enable a person to manipulate visual images on a computer. Learning to work in two globally recognized leaders in visualization Adobe Photoshop and Autodesk’s 3D Studio Max students merge photorealistic graphics and animation to create a series of three dimensional (3D) mathematical transformations that are necessary to create world class simulation.

Geographic Information (GIS)
.
C# (Sharp)
C Sharp is an object-oriented programming language developed by Microsoft as part of the .NET initiative and later approved as a standard by ECMA and ISO. The C# language, is a procedural, object-oriented syntax based on C++ which is a general-purpose programming language with high-level and low-level capabilities. Students learn how to merge free-form, multi-paradigm, procedural programming, data abstraction, into an object-oriented 3D simulation environment.
Capstone Exercise
The Capstone exercise provides students an excellent supplement to classroom experimentation, which allows learners to extend past classroom walls and into real world settings. Our Capstone is a special topic experiential learning activity that facilitates student interactions and conversations with professionals outside of the classroom.
